PADSTOW
1. The Seafood Restaurant – special occasion
One of Rick Steins several businesses located in this area, right on the harbour front. Rick Stein’s seafood bar offers the best seats in the house. Feast on Porthilly oysters or scallops… but like his TV shows, Rick Stein’s menu goes beyond British cuisines and reflects his love for travel. You can enjoy dishes from Mexico, Indian, Spain….
One of the best places to eat for lovers of ocean delicacies & the best date day/night ever!
We chose:-
🦀 A small ‘Fruits De Mare’
🦪 Scallops Vieras Al Horno
🐟 Braised fillet of Brill with truffle
🦞 Padstow Lobster Thermidor
🍮 Ceufs a la Neige
🍇 Raspberry soufflé & white chocolate mousse
2. Burger & Fish- casual dining and kid friendly
Doing what it says on the tin, this casual spot serves fresh fish dishes alongside gourmet burgers, cooked on a charcoal grill and (naturally) served with fries. There are a few veggie/vegan alternatives too. For main:- I just had to choose the Korean Dream burger with homemade kimchi slaw and sweet & sour Korean sauce… with the charcoal bun which was SOOOO TASTY 😜🖤🍔 My fella went for the grilled octopus with romesco sauce, silky mash and gremolata dressing which looked divine 🐙 To start we had:- 🦐 butterflied king prawns served with a chimichurri dressing 🧀 crispy Mac and cheese bites with bacon Mayo
3. Bin Two- Drinks and nibbles
The cutest of all wine bars located in Padstow! Every year we return back here. Enjoy tasty snacks and light bites to accompany your glass of red, white, Ross or bubbly! A perfect place for drinks in the sun.
4. Padstow Tasting Rooms – Drinks and Nibbles
Fully open for table service and takeaway beer, cider, wine, cocktails, or gin. Tables are both inside and outside the Tasting Room, which can be reserved in advance.
They offer a full range of artisan beers and cider… the Tasting Room provides the perfect space to relax and enjoy a drink away from the sometimes-hectic streets of Padstow.
5. The Mussel Box
Open kitchen serving a British menu using local produce in a smart contemporary space.
For lunch we had:- 🥓 beer and bacon mussels 🦪Mariniere mussels Padron peppers
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! Obviously, we had to order extra bread 🤤🤤
6. Barnaby’s
Relaxed restaurant with a rotating menu of locally sourced seasonal plates & creative desserts- super cute vibes. Definitely on the list for my next visit! Located near @tastingpadstow on Duke Street 🍸🍸🍸
7. Caffe Rojanos – casual dining and kid friendly
A sibling to No.6, Paul Ainsworth’s eatery Caffe Rojano serves food inspired by the Italian restaurants of NewYork and it is comfort food heaven- think fresh pasta, sourdough pizzas and stacked burgers 🍔🍝🍕 One of the best places to eat in Padstow if you adore Italian food!
KNIGHTSBIRDGE/SALCOMBE
1. The Old Bakery
Persian and Mediterranean tapas to share for 4.
We chose: -
tzatiki and Baba ghanoush with pitta breads 🦀 crab crouquettes 🦪 scallops and chorizo Padron peppers 🍉 watermelons and feta Salic 🌯 lamb and pork kebabs 🍗 chicken livers 🍖 sticky chicken 🍸🍹 with amaretto sours and gin Collins!
2. The Crab Shell Inn
Quayside pub with tables by the water, with a long menu of local seafood and global favourites 🦐☀️
3. The Pilchard Inn Sea tractor across to The Pilchard Inn on Burgh Island 💙🌊🍹🐟🦑☀️
4. The Sloop Inn
New found love for Moules mariniere this holiday…
